Autism and SEND friendly concert
"BECKY, BORIS & THE BEATS"
Sunday 28th July, 2-3pm
This is an informal concert held in the marquee in the gardens at Ham Farm. Absolutely everyone is welcome to come and enjoy this concert, but we are making it especially autism-friendly (see below for how) and hope many individuals or families with autistm or special needs will feel confident to come along.
Join storyteller Becky with her cello, ukulele and her merry band of musicians from ‘Becky Boris and the Beats' as we go on a storytelling adventure with the Musicians of Bremen! There will be optional interaction and participation, where those who want to can move, sing and play along with us on this musical adventure’.
This relaxed and welcoming performance is for all ages, and will be supported with Makaton and visual aids

"What does autism and SEND-friendly mean for a concert?"
In a word, non-judgemental. There is no expectation of how you should behave as an audience member/ participant in this concert, and no judgement. If you want to sing, sing. If you want to dance, dance. Nobody will mind if you make a noise, move around, come right up close (or stay far away). There will be fidget toys available to borrow, plenty of space to move, smaller numbers to avoid crowds, minimal amplification, as well as makaton signing and visual aids. If you need any help or we can improve your experience in any way, just tell us.
Food/Drinks
Please do feel free to bring drinks and snacks if you wish for before or during the concert. After the concert finishes the bar will be selling drinks and ice creams if you want to buy one and enjoy the grounds for a little longer.
Can I come if I don't have any special needs?
We want to keep the numbers for this showing as small as possible, to give the best experience to people who need this. We have an earlier performance of the same show, starting at 12.30pm, for a mainstream audience, where we can accept up to 100 audience members, so we ask people who can to attend that one, and keep these spaces for those who need it.
Do I need to reserve a place in advance?
Yes definitely! Please use the ticket link at the top and bottom of this page.
How much are tickets?
We want this event to be accessible and affordable for everyone. We also want to pay all our professional musicians properly. So we are doing the tickets on a "pay what you can" basis, with a minimum of £2 and a suggested amount of £5. Please do give more if you can as it helps support families who can't. Thank you!
