Multiple prize-winning duo the Andrews Massey Duo was formed in 2009 by flautist Emily Andrews and guitarist David Massey, while they were still students at the Royal Academy of Music in London. They perform many of their own arrangements and are known for the diversity and depth of their programmes as well as their virtuosity and musicianship.
Tonight's concert is called "Stolen Serenades" because it's beautiful music which the duo has "stolen" from other instruments - for example they will perform a Mozart Sonata originally for piano, some Schubert songs originally for voice and piano, and Dvorak's romantic Sonatine which was written for violin and piano, all on flute and guitar!
This is one of the few Classical concerts in this year's festival, (the other pure classical concert is Aranjuez!) so if you like classical music and want to listen to top international performers while enjoying the lovely gardens, this concert is for you!
This event is not recommended for children under 7 as it requires quiet listening and will be only minimally amplified. Please get in touch if you want to discuss bringing a younger child.
