Kid's Choir

Saturday 29th July, 12.30-3pm
An enthusiastic choir trainer with many years experience across all age groups and abilities, Anya Szreter will lead a choral workshop for children. She's taught singing in many environments including school classes and Saturday music schools, as well singing and teaching singers at professional level. She's also a mum and a great fun person, so this morning pop-up kids' choir will be hugely enjoyable as well as educational!

Who is the workshop for?
It's aimed at Primary School kids, really from any age where 1.5 hours of singing will be fun and not impossible! As a rough guide, maybe 7-11 but you know your kids best and whether they'd enjoy singing in a choir for a morning :-)
The kids may already sing in a choir, or perhaps have never even thought of it before. They just need to enjoy singing and be keen to sing in a group.
There is no need to be able to read music, although grade 8-ers are welcome too!

What will happen?
She will lead them through fun warm-ups, exploring how your body IS your instrument, discovering the sounds you can (and shouldn't!) make.
Then she'll teach everyone a round by ear, (that's a melody that can be staggered so it still sounds good - like London's Burning).
There'll be a snack break (please bring snacks with you).
And finally she'll teach a simple piece in two or three parts, which can be performed at the end for the parents on pickup.

The workshop costs £6 , tickets available from Eventbrite .
